Motorcycle gear that works for real people
Finding motorcycle gear when you’re shorter and not shaped like the standard mannequin can be frustrating, I know. It seems like motorcycle gear designers forgot that people come in different shapes.
Until I finally found something that worked.

The Problem:
Motorcycle Gear That Doesn’t Fit
I’m 160 cm tall (5’3″) and, let’s just say – curvy. I usually wear EU size 48.
My biggest challenge with motorcycle gear is finding something roomy enough for my boobs, hips and tummy, without drowning in sleeves and pant legs that are far too long.
Forget a full leather suit – I would have looked like an overstuffed sausage.
On the other hand (sic!), my hands and feet are small.
I wear EU shoe size 36/37, and even small gloves often have fingers that are too long for my fingers.
Apparently, I’m built in mixed proportions.
The Solution:
Motorcycle Gear That Actually Fits
But it IS possible to fint gear that fits! It just takes some time and research to find the right clothes.
In this picture, I’m wearing a MotoGirl summer jacket and cargo pants (more about each item below).
Even though the pants are slightly too long, it’s not a big issue. The ribbed cuffs at the ankles help keep them in place – and that works well for me.
And the pants are super comfortable, feels like pajamas!
Below you can see what gear I currently use, and hopefully that will help you in your research.

See the struggle to find the right gear in this video I made a while back. (It’s in norwegian, but with captions)
Feeling comfortable and safe in your gear changes how you ride. Not necessarily faster — but when everything fits and feels right, you can focus on what really matters: riding safely.
