IKEA Museum sits in the very first IKEA store, opened in Älmhult in 1958. A stop for anyone curious about the story behind the brand, and a proper excuse for a ride to Småland.

Why this ride is worth it:
I love IKEA – I’ve lost count of how many kitchens I’ve bought and built (more than I care to admit), and I’ve spent more hours than is reasonable just wandering the stores for inspiration.
So walking through decades of furniture, from the 70s to now, recognising pieces along the way? That’s exactly my kind of museum.
Add in the whole story behind Ingvar Kamprad (perfect if you are interesting in different forms of leadership), a museum shop selling Allen key keyrings (of course), and the IKEA Hotell right next door – that’s my kind of adventure!
