For me – this is BIG

For me – this is BIG

After attending to MC-messen in Lillestrøm last Friday, fate would have it that I got a question from Jörgen at Kör Hoj.

He wondered if I would like to take part in a women riders’ weekend he is arranging together with Malin Åhr and talk about my way into life on two wheels.

The answer to that question is of course YES, i want to be a part of it!

My road into motorcycling wasn’t exactly smooth. I first tried to get my license when I was 22, but being 160 cm tall and riding bikes that were simply too big for me, I mostly ended up dropping them. What I gained was bruises – and a lot of anxiety.

For many years I thought that dream had passed me by.

Fast forward many years – and somehow I ended up getting my motorcycle license at 51.
It was not a straight road. It was messy, scary, frustrating and at times pretty hilarious.
I’ll share that full story another time, but let’s just say it involved a very stubborn carburetor, a rainstorm, and an examiner who didn’t seem particularly impressed.

But it taught me something important. It’s possible.
Even if you think you are totally useless, and anxiety just takes control over body and brain – You can do it.

If I could, you could too.

So when Kör Hoj asked if I wanted to come to their women riders’ weekend and talk about my journey into motorcycling, my answer was easy.
Because if my story can help even one person believe that they might be able to do it too – then it’s worth telling.

I’m really looking forward to meeting other women motorcycle riders coming to the event, and listen to their stories.
And if my story can add a few sparks of joy – or make someone think “maybe I could do this too” – then it’s worth telling.
